Even though building and maintaining a Cube is a lot of work, I am constantly reminded how rewarding it is when you get to play it with friends.

I’ve always been the person to tease my Commander friends about playing an inferior format (cause Cube is the best), but this guy has persuaded me. I love lands, graveyard strategies, and sacrifice themes. Here’s all of it, at once.

We were in Mexico City for less than 24 hours, but it was fun!

I pulled a surge foil Kefka over the #MagicCon weekend and didn’t care for it, so I traded it for an alt art Vivi. I’m very happy with that trade, and he’ll go in my Cube for sure.

My first time ever playing a Vintage Cube, and I go 3-0! It was a blast to see the cards and build the deck, even though I had low confidence. I know my deck was good, but I didn’t know the potential of the Cube, so I just assumed that I missed “better” things to do. Thanks @aquaone.bsky.social!!

MagicCon Chicago predictions:

We’ll get a decent amount of early preview cards for Tarkir Dragonstorm, specifically Sarkhan and Ugin.

We’ll get a few more previews for Final Fantasy.

Nope, just a big fan of the game!

Did two Arena Foundations drafts last night. Went 4-3 with 🔴⚪️ aggro and then 3-3 with ⚪️⚫️ lifegain/sacririce. Out of the six losses, three of them came from running out of gas after drawing four land in a row. There aren’t a whole lot of mana sinks, or maybe I’m still building the decks wrong…

There are like 44 cards I want to consider for my Arena based Cube. Most of them are new cards, but some are new-to-Arena, such as Dark Confidant. I’m very much looking forward to using it, especially with this fantastic art!

This feels real nice so far! Still in deck building though!

It’s prerelease weekend for Magic Foundations!! Who else is going?

I spent a few hours last night to type up a beginner’s guide for the Magic the Gathering Foundations prerelease. It clearly isn’t going to be as complex and intricate as Duskmourn, but it should be a more welcoming and relaxed environment for the newer and casual players, which sounds great to me!
