I don't think it's entirely fair to blame an entire religion for a few people's unwise decisions. God was and is very much in favor of supporting homeless people (Isaiah 58:6-7) and many Christians are as well! <3

Judgement is fully up to God. Our job now is to love our neighbors as ourselves and carry the good news of reconciliation to all the nations!

Not to say that anyone who DOESN'T believe in Him deserves to be stoned, because we are all at the end of the day sinners (Romans 3:23) and none of us deserve to cast stones (John 8:7).

So God sends His Son Jesus to die for us so that we now have FORGIVENESS for those things and a chance to get to know the one and true God who fully sustains and provides! No stoning necessary because Jesus paid the full price of all sin for everyone who believes in Him! (Romans 10:9)

And no one wants to do it anymore. Kind of the same idea for seminars in school about drugs and stuff- they teach you the consequences so hopefully you don't do it anyways. BUT a lot of people DO end up doing it anyways, just like a lot of people ended up continuing to worship false idols.

Truly sustaining thing! (John 6:48) And a lot of pagan religions also called for things like human sacrifice or sexual promiscuity and other damaging things. ALSO, we know the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Stoning was to set an example- you do a bad thing, you get punished for it-

Of course the BEST resource is to pick up a Bible!! You don't even need a physical copy. YouVersion is an app with several translations and Bible plans and all sorts of things. PLUS there are tons of great people online, like the Impact Whiteboard guys on YouTube. PLEASE share this. God bless you <3

which I'm pretty sure IS a Biblical practice- see: Mordecai- but you don't just STAY there. There's a basin for washing your hands and feet on the other side of the altar. Because Jesus washes you clean. but He can't do that if you're still sitting in the ashes.
