Not many surprises as the Australian Open singles entry lists were released Tuesday.
But the 2026 edition could feature the return of ... Karolina Pliskova!

Monastir, Tunisia was "Little Canada" last week as Canadians took both the singles and doubles titles at the ITF event there, to end the season on a high.

It's December, but still plenty of action on the #CanucksThisWeek beat, from the Orange Bowl all the way to ITFs.

Here's this week's roster, with up-to-date results.

With the Orange Bowl getting under way in Florida, we dove in to see if success at that prestigious junior event is an arbiter of pro success.
We looked back 5 years, 10 and ... 15 years to see how they turned out.
Many vintage pics of the stars as youngsters.

And in 2023, she was thrilled when she Q'd at the US Open.
Until her 2018 and 2023 comebacks, she had only played qualifying in a major ONCE – in her first one, all the way back in 2002 at Roland Garros, where she qualified, beat Schiavone in the 3R and lost to Serena in the R16.

In 2014, we spotted Zvonareva picking up swag like some random tennis-goer at Wimbledon.
December 6, 2025 at 10:55 PM
In her earlier days, Zvonareva added a super-hottie coach / part-time Abercrombie & Fitch model – a guy she'd played mixed with as a teen – to her team.
She never seemed too thrilled that he got more attention than she did.😝
December 6, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Zvonareva is probably best known for the full towel cover on changeovers.
She got so skilled at it she could pretty. much do anything she needed to do, even without being able to see much.
December 6, 2025 at 10:54 PM
In 2009, Zvonareva left a dead soldier on the practice court in Montreal.
Shahar Pe'er and coach Craig Kardon picked it up, examining it rather ... quizzically. 🤣

A brief thread of classic Vera Zvonareva moments.
This is the first pic I have of her in my archives, going all the way back to the 2007 US Open.
December 6, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Former world No. 2 Vera Zvonareva disappeared 18 months ago, after making the Roland Garros doubles quarterfinals.
She's back this week in Dubai. And she's KILLING it. At age 41.

When Brazil's Joao Lucas Reis da Silva came out in Dec. 2024, it made news but didn't exactly open the door wide.
Nearly a year later, Mika Brunold has joined him.
It shouldn't be a big deal. But it still is.

And here is this week's lineup - still plenty of action, and of course the big junior event formerly known as the Eddie Herr taking place in Bradenton, Fla, and well-attended by the Canucks.

Final results on the #CanucksThisWeek beat - with Kayla Cross the big winner w/a doubles title and singles final in Ortisei.
Looks like top 200 (exactly) for the 1st time in her singles career.

On the WTA Tour side, a lot quieter, but a lot of players still grinding it out to reach personal goals and make a little money.

It's a close call, and it depends who you're backing. But it looks like Perth will be the place to be for the United Cup in January.
Of course, the Canucks are in Sydney with a good draw. So there's that.

Less than a week ago, Félix Auger-Aliassime didn't even know if he'd qualify in Turin.
Four days ago, he looked down for the count.
Friday night, he qualified for the semis.

And so, some changes that might not last.
Also - a ton of new career highs.
