Tbh just going to post about books I'm reading.
New book: this FMC is 19

Me: 🙄🙄🙄...fine

Book: but the MMC is 22!

Me: alright, that's weirdly different

Just finished The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne. I enjoyed it and thought it was well written, but I was also expecting a little more from it. Like maybe more crime, or action? It wasn't suspenseful in any way and the characters didn't have a ton of depth. Also,

I finished the book (Br*de of Br*tal H*arts) and I'd give it a 2 out of 5 stars. The good: interesting deviation from typical romance tropes, chapters did a good job ending with cliffhangers, overall story was compelling enough to be intriguing
I've decided to start the trashy book. It can't be any worse than the one I read last year where the MMC ejaculated into the FMC's shampoo and also used a ring pop as an anal plug...🙏

I'm two chapters into The Savage Noble Death of Babs Dionne (audiobook) and so far it's really engaging. Thanks, Anthony Jeselnik!

I've just learned of a book (which I apparently put on my TBR a year ago and forgot existed) that some on Bookstagram say is one of the best romantasies they've ever read, while others on Goodreads say it's 80% spice, 100% trash. For research purposes I might have to look into this🧐

So I ended up reading 82 books in 2025. The most disappointing was the Once Upon A Broken Heart series. The ending felt like a middle finger for reading up until that point. The most surprising/fun books I read were the Villains and Virtues series. However,

I'd give this book a 3/5 bc I like the story, but it really deserves a 2/5 and I'm placing the blame entirely on the editor. It's like they just skimmed it one time and said "yeah good enough. Print!" It's 930 pages long and probably about 300 of that was unnecessary repetition.
I'm now starting The Wrath of the Fallen, which I'm really excited about. It's book 4/7 in the Gods & Monsters series and this was one of my favorite stories I started this year. It's really like watching an action movie, except obv it's a book lol.

Stranger Things? More like Speeches & Crying & Things (got em!)

Just finished this. It was really good and easy to read. Not dry at all. It does feel like there's a decent amount left out, like about his wives and other family members, but it's only about 530 pages.

I really enjoyed listening to this discussion about AI. It can feel like a lot to sit with, but it's also important to stay aware, and share with others.

Having some silly milk to celebrate their silly "hunting" which was literally just releasing larger animals of prey to catch weaker animals and bring them back to Khubilai's palanquin (which he had to be carried around in bc he was too obese to ride a horse or walk, and also he had gout).

I have a tip for anyone that wants to try being vegan next month: get into Asian and Middle Eastern cooking. Spices are the way to enjoy satisfying meals. Not replacement products.

I generally don't care too much about what my neighbors are doing, it's none of my business, BUT, it's very annoying to me that one of them is an animal hoarder that currently has 12-13 dogs in their small house.

Here's something I haven't encountered before: Giorgi III wasn't "the Brilliant" that seems to have been George V, who ruled Georgia from 1299-1302 and again from 1314-1346. But Giorgi III ruled from 1156-1184. Soooo, 1221? Who are we talking about here?

I did the 12 Days of Solstice last year which was really fun, but this year I felt so tired and like coming up with 12 wishes was a lot of work I wasn't ready for. Then I saw a woman on TikTok explain that this is a time for rest and reflection...

Should I finish reading the well written medieval horror novel about the black plague that has very disgusting descriptions of everything ORRR should I start reading a biography of Genghis Khan?

I finished it! 😩 People say the series she wrote before this one was "even better" but based on this one, idk that I have it in me to try it out. This one was A LOT. Most of the characters were insufferable for 75% of the story. There was a lot of repetition with specific words and phrases.
I took a break from the bad book and came back to it today. FINALLY the shitty FMC did something good/cool/that made sense.

I've read a lot of books this year, but the content/quality of those books on the other hand ... 😬
If you read a book this year, im proud of you 🫶🏽 reading and literacy has become an act of rebellion in such an illiterate world
