I think back to my favorite characters, and it's without a doubt the fact that their dialogue was limited that makes them so memorable. Would I want those meaningful words to be diluted, lost in the midst of algorithmically generated filler? Even if some of it felt meaningful, would I remember it?

It also collapses game narrative into “just words” when a clever writer will see the whole picture, often working with other devs for the best way to tell the story. Just leaning on words kills so many narrative opportunities

Essentially, I think that LLM-generated dialogue only makes sense if you believe that the product of writing is words.

Sure, you might think it's too harsh. Sure, they might've only used it for early stuff in development, etc
