Who’s ready to #ShakeOut!? @DubsUW sure is! The Great @ShakeOut earthquake drill is just 2 weeks away, on October 16. Every year, millions across the globe participate. When the ground starts shaking, the best way to protect yourself is simple: DAWG (Drop), COVER, and HOLD ON!

OHAZ just deployed a new wildfire camera at Jackass Butte in Harney County! #FieldworkFriday

Earlier this year, we added a portable camera as a temporary solution to help during fire season. The permanent camera is now installed.

We thank the Bureau of Land Management for sponsoring the project!

USGS has issued a statement noting that Mount St. Helens has strong easterly–southeasterly winds in the vicinity of Mount St. Helens, which have picked up loose volcanic ash deposited during the 1980 eruptions.

Earthquakes can disrupt communities for weeks, especially if aid takes time to arrive. Build an emergency kit with two weeks of supplies in case your family must shelter in place, plus a go-bag for sudden evacuations.
