Have Oregon drivers always been this bad? From always going 5 to 10 mph below the posted speed limit and stopping at green lights to slowing down thousands of feet before they reach a red light and stopping three car lengths behind the car in front of them, Portland area drivers are the worst!

A couple days ago, I watched my 84-year-old mother die. I held her hand and listened to one of her favorite artists (Etta James) as she took her final breath. I rang the help button and a nurse from the assisted-living facility came into the room and confirmed her passing.

The upside of naming Tony Dukoupil as the next host of CBS News, a new show I do not watch, is that he will no longer be on #CBSMornings, a show I do watch while getting ready in the morning.

In my lifetime, I have lost friends and my grandparents. As my parents age, and one has end-stage lung cancer, it's hard to watch them get older but it's even harder to watch them die. Please tell me that this pain gets easier.

We've reached the time of year when I have to educate people that (a) "Falling back" means the END of Daylight Saving Time (not the start of it) and (b) it's going to get dark earlier no matter what.
