Orioles fan.
Just now getting around to the first season of The Pitt and, yeah, it's as good as everyone said it was. Absolutely riveting television.

My brother & I were raised by a father still learning to say "I love you"; though he did learn to say it.

Now that we're older & bonding more, my brother & I end all emails with "love you!" & it's awesome!

"Happy birthday, love you!" "Go Orioles, love you!" "Christmas at our house, love you."

Tomorrow my wife & I are repeating our annual tradition of Christmas Eve Bacon. It's a very complicated ritual that involves cooking a bunch of bacon and then... eating a bunch of bacon. This year I'm going to make some everything-bagel bacon and some peppered bacon, alongside regular bacon.

I try not to crowd this Orioles-centric account with too much non-Orioles noise, but I really liked One Battle After Another, though maybe not quite as much as everyone else.

As an Orioles fan, I follow a lot of Ravens fans.

And Ravens fans are not well right now.

The James Ransone news makes me incredibly sad. Despite an incredibly rough life (physical abuse/sexual assault/substance addiction), he still managed to create art that resonated with millions across multiple movies & shows.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE & YOU HAVE VALUE!

Call 988 or call a friend.

Health insurance for just my wife & I is nearly doubling for 2026 to over $2,000/month.

I'm only 50.

I'm going to have to pick & choose years I can go without insurance & hope I get lucky. I certainly can't afford to pay that every year.

Our insurance isn't even very good.

WTF, America?

For a probably small audience: I'm reading I Cheerfully Refuse, by Leif Enger, my favorite writer, and I'm only 4 chapters in... but just Googling that book title will reveal a spoiler I haven't encountered yet. So... FYI.

I have lived in greater Baltimore, greater Indianapolis, greater Chicago, and greater Nashville... and Nashville traffic/driving is easily the worst.

I know I'm going to get NY, Boston, & LA people chiming in, to whom I say: come spend a week driving in Nashville. I don't think you have any idea.

There is "_______ _______ is returning for Avengers Doomsday" news out there tonight that will ruin your day if you are a spoiler avoider... just FYI. Might want to mute certain words or call it a night.

I mostly talk Orioles here, but I really enjoyed Train Dreams. It helps that it seems to support my life philosophy that "no one gets to leave a legacy, we are all forgotten, & living well is merely living & being good to those around you."

The movie is also gorgeous to look at & superbly acted.

My new conspiracy theory is that all Gatorade flavors are the same recipe except for the food coloring.

Been drinking a bit daily for months now; tried dozens of flavors.

They all taste the same to me. Blindfolded, I couldn't tell you which flavor I was drinking. Thanks for reading my TED talk.

My wife and I watched Wake Up Dead Man today, and it's honestly probably my favorite of all the Knives Out movies.

What actor's facial expression in a movie/TV show will stay with you for the rest of your life?

I pulled a 1/1 Pete Alonso baseball card three years ago and promptly turned around and sold it because, "Well, he's never going to be an Oriole."

Sorry, Pete. Welcome to Birdland.

The Orioles spent money! Does it make sense to sign a first-baseman when you have, like, 3 and a half of those already? No! But they'll get rid of a couple and, more importantly, THE ORIOLES SPENT MONEY!

Six times? SIX TIMES?! That's it?! Who thinks watching a movie six times in your entire life is a lot?!?! I've watched The Martian ten times THIS YEAR!

I grew up in Indiana rooting on IU... basketball. We never thought IU football had a shot. Fast forward to tonight and holy sh*t! IU just beat Ohio State in FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL!!!! Unreal.

Email tonight from Netflix, who are out here just assuming this merger will be approved. Do they know something we don't? Have they already paid the tax to the administration?

Almost every day someone on the road does something that could cause a wreck if I or another driver hadn't been paying attention. And I only drive a few miles each day.

Driving anywhere these days is honestly scary.

Imagine how the motorcyclists, bicyclists, & pedestrians must feel.

I wore a Project Semicolon shirt for an entire day at my family's Thanksgiving and no one asked me about it. :(

Next year I'll wear one every single day. :)

My wife loves Hallmark Christmas movies and I was just in the living room... a new one is on called Christmas at the Catnip Cafe. It opens with a montage of kittens playing with Christmas decorations and that montage alone is easily one of the best movies I've seen all year.

Drove home 6 hours today from Thanksgiving, and these Christmas music channels on satellite radio are wild. You'll get a solemn hymn with lyrics like "Jesus Christ, savior to all, come to Earth," and then the very next song is all "I kind of wanna f*ck Santa."
