I'm voting YES on 50.

You should, too.

Here's why.

Trump just said some federal employees “don’t deserve to be taken care of.” That’s not leadership, it’s cruelty.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are working or waiting without pay, and the president seems proud of it.

We need a leader who reopens government, not one who weaponizes it.

Imagine opening a letter saying your health insurance costs are about to rise by thousands, even tens of thousands, next year.

That’s the reality for millions of Americans later this month if we don’t extend ACA tax credits.

I won’t stand by while people are priced out of the care they need.

Mike Johnson is delaying Democrat Adelita Grijalva’s swearing in to block a House vote to release the Epstein files.

Republicans swore in their own winners the next day in April.

This is rank hypocrisy and totally shameless.

Listen to this Republican military spouse, who is exactly right: Mike Johnson could call us all back today to DC to make sure at least our military is paid during the shutdown.

We have a bipartisan bill to do exactly that.

Truly a disgrace Johnson won’t do it.

Republican C-SPAN caller to Mike Johnson: "As a Republican, I'm very disappointed in my party, and I'm very disappointed in you, because you have the power to call the House back. You refuse to do that just for a show."

The new DOE “climate review” is one of the most misleading and irresponsible government reports I’ve ever seen. It cherry-picks, distorts, and ignores decades of peer-reviewed science. Using it to justify gutting climate rules isn’t just wrong — it’s unconscionable. www.politico.com/interactives...

It is truly disgraceful that Johnson refuses to bring House Republicans back to DC or swear in our new Democratic colleague, Adelita Grijalva, because she would be the 218th and deciding signature on the Epstein Files resolution.

All during a government shutdown with real world consequences and the health care of millions of Americans at stake. Johnson should be ashamed of himself.

Millions of Americans are about to see their health care premiums double, and the government is shut down because Republicans walked away.

Democrats are ready to work and reopen the government.

It’s time for House Republicans to end their vacation and do their jobs.

During this shutdown, it’s important to remember: Republicans looted the store and left the “open” sign on. Democrats are the ones restocking the shelves and keeping it running for the people who built it.

Leading economists say the U.S. saw “essentially no job growth” last month.

Small businesses are getting crushed by Trump’s tariffs and immigration chaos while health care carries the economy.

The shutdown means no official jobs data—just more chaos and uncertainty.

Electric bills are rising twice as fast as inflation. The grid is aging, extreme weather keeps breaking it, and rebuilding safely costs more. These are the hidden costs of climate change. The answer is not denial. It is investing in a stronger, cleaner, more resilient grid.
'A cost of climate change': Why the price of electricity is outpacing inflation
NPR's Steve Inskeep asks Robinson Meyer of the climate and energy site Heatmap News why electricity bills are rising faster than inflation.

Ninety-four million pounds of food — chicken, milk, cheese, eggs — never reached families in need because of Trump’s cuts.

At a time of record hunger, this is cruelty masquerading as policy.

What happened to government efficiency, compassion, or basic competence?
Trump Canceled 94 Million Pounds of Food Aid. Here’s What Never Arrived.
ProPublica obtained records from the Department of Agriculture that detail the millions of pounds of food, down to the number of eggs, that never reached food banks because of the administration’s cut...

Budget Director Russ Vought first wanted to fire thousands of federal workers during the shutdown, now he wants to prevent those furloughed from getting back pay.

He is completely out of control, and this is all totally illegal.

We will not be intimidated by his threats.
Scoop: White House memo says furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to backpay
A move to deny backpay to up to 750,000 furloughed workers would dramatically escalate Trump's pressure on Democrats to end the shutdown.

The shutdown isn’t complicated.

Democrats are fighting to stop health care cuts and protect affordable care for millions of Americans.

We’re not backing down from that fight.

Republicans have the power to negotiate, protect healthcare for American citizens, and reopen the govt.

They refuse.
