Tatiana Nikolaevna’s Committee was particularly famous, helping refugees to reconnect with loved ones who they had lost during upheaval. The Committee therefore sold more copies, and it is no coincidence that multiple photographs of Tatiana Nikolaevna have been recovered in good quality.

As the photographs were sold directly and not as widely internationally produced postcards, there are very few photographs that have been recovered in high quality.
It appears that there are a few poses yet to be found, such as Maria Nikolaevna photographed alone.

"He sometimes surprised me with questions beyond his years which bore witness to a delicate and intuitive spirit... I discovered a child of a naturally affectionate disposition, sensitive to suffering in others just because he had already suffered so much himself [from haemophilia]."

The dress entered the Hermitage Museum’s collection in 1950, where it has been preserved beautifully.

It has been exhibited multiple times, including internationally in Amsterdam, and was most recently exhibited at the ‘ОТМА + Алексей’ exhibition at the Hermitage.

Olga’s English Tutor, Sydney Gibbes, recalled that “Olga was very modest. She liked simplicity and did not pay much attention to dress.”

Olga is pictured wearing a very similar dress whilst holidaying at the Livadia Palace in 1913. Whilst this is not the exact dress preserved here, it demonstrates the popular style of the period and her fashion tastes.
