Hey Alec - I deeply appreciated this and I think it’s some of the best work you’ve done, even without the last third. With it, you’ve elevated it even higher. This was more emotionally affective than I thought I could ever experience from a Tech Connections vid. Thank you.

So while it had the effect of being boomer nostalgia, I don’t think the holiday music that stuck was a result of them dominating our culture, rather it just happened to be the music being released when home media took off.

Recorded media existed before then, but wasn’t nearly as common in homes until the vinyl lp came to dominate in the mid to late 50s.

You mention that most of our Christmas music was released during the time the boomers were young, wouldn’t it be feasible that that’s caused by the then recent advent of practical home recorded media, allowing music to be played over and over for the first time?

Been a big fan of my Rotring 600 pen - swapped out the included refill with a monteverde one and now I take that everywhere.

- In compact view, spoiler thumbnails are bigger than other thumbnails
- When viewing media, the background should be black, not the theme color
- I wish I could default to community search instead of post search

- The button to collapse comments is very small and easy to miss, I’d love to just tap the entire comment
- Can’t collapse text posts
- On text posts with a lot of links (think r/games review roundups) the list of links at the bottom of the post is huge and text a while to scroll past.

With the demise of Arc I’ve been getting up to speed with the Zen browser - an open source spiritual successor based on the Firefox engine that is surprisingly excellent.
