After seeing #Nosferatu, I have no idea how Lily-Rose Depp wasn't nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role. If someone watches that movie and isn't captivated by her performance, they might already belong to Orlok.

Losing is going to bring out the worst in her. And she's already 'The Woman from hell.'

"Hope drains you, because it promises too much. Be glad you are rid of it. Then you have nothing left to hope for, you have nothing left dear."

"True duty is about service."
"There is no enemy. The foe in the ring is merely the manifestation of that which we must overcome. He is doubt, and fears, and despair. Every battle is fought within. Conquer the battlefield that lies inside you, and the enemy disappears like the illusion."

The small pieces of parchment paper attached to the jacket he wore on Dynamite seem to explain a bit of The Death Riders' philosophy. Although only the right side was visible. Even The Maltese Cross suggests that he is a knight serving the king.

Collision was awesome. Everything clicked. Especially The Main Event. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe have insane chemistry in the ring. And both might actually be insane. #AEWCollision

Dynamites are just better when the spotlight is on Swerve. AEW has a lot of mouths to feed, but it just feels like he should be champion sooner rather than later.

One of the most interesting aspects of Ricochet's evolution in AEW is his embrace of the role of the bad guy. He's a different sort of heel. When everyone's a tough guy, it's best to take a different approach.

Even if he thought he was just being honest, he had to know he would receive blowback. This suggests his comment was intentionally controversial, when the assignment was simple: just promote the show. It seems he had other ideas.

The actor who voices Peter Parker in the upcoming Disney+ animated series injected a bit of real-world nonsense during an interview, after being asked about having a chance for a fresh take on Spider-Man. The actor gave what could only be deemed a polarizing answer.

Skeleton Crew has been a fun ride. Hopefully it gets at least a couple more seasons. #SkeletonCrew

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man thankfully isn't in the MCU. That used to be a badge of honor. But it was also a good way to stiffle creativity. It made the worlds within the projects feel too small.

Ironically, the current climate feels like it might lead to a Snyder-esque "Knightmare" universe. That's why a hopeful film, like the one I hope James Gunn has crafted, is so necessary.
December 19, 2024 at 6:20 AM
Gunn's current situation echoes Zack Snyder's from over a decade ago. Given Snyder's penchant for dark and gritty narratives, his directorial style arguably aligned better with the Batman franchise than with the brighter, more hopeful Superman mythos.

A lot rides on next summer's Superman movie. If it fails, DC Studios will likely stick to Batman films until another executive is willing to try building a different franchise.

This is the kind of movie that would have fit right in on USA's Up All Night.

The plot is basic: college kids on a road trip get stranded and picked off one by one by some unseen force. While some of the acting is over-the-top, the real problem is the cast's apparent lack of understanding about what's hunting them.

Just because a movie is bad doesn't mean it can't be fun. Unfortunately, Don't Turn Out the Lights wasn't. It set up interesting B-movie elements, but completely failed to follow through. The killer's identity remains a mystery, which is a fundamental flaw in any horror movie.

Dune: Prophecy has been a welcome surprise. While I anticipated its arrival, I didn't expect it to be so well-executed. I particularly enjoy the scheming, and the steadily rising body count effectively underscores the high stakes.

An ideal Harry Potter series would have about eight episodes per season. However, securing veteran actors for such a significant commitment, and finding actors who can live up to the legacy of the original cast, will be crucial for its success.
December 7, 2024 at 3:47 AM
Some Potterheads believe that Adam Driver would be perfect for the upcoming Max original series. While his talent is undeniable, a seven-season TV commitment seems unlikely. Alan Rickman was 54 when he began the Harry Potter films; this is a far greater commitment.

Skeleton Crew was a good time. It's worth a watch. Takes you back to those days when you were small and spent hours on your bike with people your age out looking for the same thing. A grand adventure.

I'm definitely not looking forward to their split. Max has clearly been in his villain phase for a while now. With such a stacked roster, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle, especially as a singles wrestler. That said, if they divorce, the kids will choose Bowens. (Heel Acclaimed would rule.)
