Trump's plan could shut down most of the tourism to the United States. Or would you willingly provide your social media history AND your telephone numbers and email addresses used from the last 5 years, plus more information about your family members, just for a holiday in USA? (link in comment)

Tampereen peräkonttikirppiksen löytöjä: Arabian vanhoja uuninkestäviä Teema-tarjoiluastioita ja Marimekon keittiöpyyhe.
Some fleamarket finds today: Arabia and Marimekko towel. One of the biggest fleamarkets in Tampere is a drive-in "trunk fleamarket" where sellers sell stuff from their car trunks!

Yesterday I was doing some aquarelle sketching with my friend. At the Kopparnäs seaside, the temperature was approx. 24 Celsius, wind speed was 5 meters per second. Quite nice. We saw a grass snake swimming by the sea shore, swans and a flock of flying great cormorants! #pleinairpainting

May I present... my pen syndrome! These were found around my home when I was packing. We didn't have many pens at my chilhood home, and those few we did were always missing. The common question was "where's the pen?" (Don't understand why we didn't have enough of them, as they're a cheap commodity)

Another batch of seagulls on their way? Spotted this hatching gull on the rooftop of a house in Tampere. The first gull nestlings have already left their nests for this summer.

Meta just introduced the best doomscrolling prevention tool and app timer feature for Instagram. For free! In the free plan, every time I'm forced to stop scrolling my feed and watch some ad, I wake up and close the whole app. Thanks for giving me back my time and attention, Meta!

@skskirjat.bsky.social vähän ikävä pettymys kun sain käsiini näin kauniin kirjan... aloin etsiä tietysti kuvittajan nimeä. Onko tämän kirjan kuvitukset tosiaan tehty tekoälyllä? eikö sisällön suojaaminen koskekaan muiden sisällöntuottajien pääomaa kuin kirjailijan itsensä? #TDMrep

Work in progress. Unlike all the other Finns that go to their cottages in the countryside (this might be a slight exaggeration btw), I'm spending my Solstice Midsummer day at my art studio space. And by the sound of it, I'm not the only one! Someone's playing the piano downstairs...

Scientists enabled test persons to see a new, extremely vibrant colour named "olo" by stimulating eye's M cone cells. The test might turn useful in studying colour blindness.
This image depicts a shade that's closest to olo, just a lot less saturated.

"Spring Equinox (Waiting for the blackbirds) — Kevätpäivän tasaus (Mustarastaita vartoessa)". Oilpastels and pencil on paper, 42 x 52 cm, 2024.

Throwback to last year's March equinox, when I started this oil pastel & pencil drawing. A larch tree was bare, waiting for the spring and birds to arrive.

Starting a whole new series, with a different style and medium than my previous works. Water soluble oil colour on plywood: I'm testing the technique, as unprimed plywood basically soaks up the oilcolour instantly. This piece was finished 3 years ago and it's still holding, so it may just work out!
