I added a tab to The F5's homepage with links to the 60+ #rstats tutorials I've written since 2021

The F5 costs $5/month and you get access to the archive as soon as you subscribe. I think it's a fair deal but if you're a student or can't justify the cost get in touch

at first i tired downloading the AI rendered transcripts to parse the player's names but it kept referring to Luka Doncic as Tall Raymond Felton so i didnt think it was reliable

I was blown away when Owen explained his project to me.

Glad I could help pull the curtain back just a bit in support of his project on the NBA Top 10.

Good stuff. Of course it doesn’t. These are NBA players, who know exceedingly accurately how much time and space they need to got their shot off. For them most part I’d be willing to wager they never even noticed the Kornet Kontest happening.

Luke Kornet would contest three-point shots without getting near a shooter, just trying to obscure the rim, callijg the move an eclipse.
@owenlhjphillips spent a good amount of time studying it and found useful results.

Does the Kornet Kontest Work?
Luke Kornet's Eclipse is a fan favorite, but is it effective?

Caught this in @maxread.info’s latest and this is such a good articulation of the difference between early 20s ambitious young people and folks who have a bit of experience (including failure).

“It’s an attitude, not a skill” is it in a nutshell.

in my experience the problem with younger tech guys is really not what they don't know. they are very smart. they are however constitutionally incapable of knowing what they don't know. depending on the project, this makes them extremely risky hires

the absolute smartest people I know know a lot, but more notable is that they are constantly moving things from the don't know they don't know category into the realm of things they know they don't know. the problem is that that's an attitude to develop and not a skill to learn.

there might after all be a connection between — to use the idiotic terms — EQ and IQ. I've discovered there certainly is at an elite level at least

the only thing preventing me from making the full time switch to #Positron is the lack of a Re-Run Previous Section shortcut. Might be my most used shortcut in RStudio

was fun looking back at the recent history of RFAs and the offer sheets they received. how different their careers could have been if their home team had/hadn't matched
