“What does having OCD feel like?”
The struggle, in my mind, comes from feeling like my brain is split in two. Part of me knows my obsessions and compulsions are illogical. The other part can not stop telling me about these obsessions and compulsions. And it is a constant back and forth, a spiral. And try as you you might to explain logic to yourself, it does nothing. It's hellish. A lot of people have called OCD a thief of time because the obsessions and compulsions and thinking and doing the compulsions takes so much time out of your day. And the worst part is the only way to get better is to face your fears and not do the compulsions. And your brain screams at you the whole time and you feel like a helpless child.

As a severe OCD sufferer, reading the highlighted bit spelled out this clearly was shocking, but definitely rang true. People have no clue of the level of torture we have to go through daily. It’s just so shocking to see it spelled so clearly and recognised after years of people diminishing my pain.
Different studies have found data similar to those mentioned. Patients with OCD show poor quality of life. A Spanish study' found that the quality of life that these patients had was the same as that of patients with schizophrenia in mental health areas, although better than theirs in areas of physical health; like-wise, their quality of life was worse than that of patients with heroine dependency or of depressed patients. In comparison with other neurotic disorders, OCD is associated with greater social and work deterioration and greater emotional impact. In addition to suffering the cost to their quality of life, patients with OCD also present high rates of comorbid-ity with other disorders: up to 90% of patients with OCD will fulfil criteria for another disorder at some time during their lives, as some epidemiological studies have found.

France has confirmed its participation in Eurovision 2026, while Spain has also said it will withdraw if Israel is banned.
