He was bullied into saying anything that could be twisted. Say he agreed with Maduro in any sense. He would still be condemned. If he didn't say anything for or against, he still would be condemned.

I disagree. He clearly states his energies are focused on the five boroughs. Not judging other countries' leaders from what he clearly states isn't his focus.
He's running for governor of New York, not the presidency.
