Minneapolis Council Member Robin Wonsley told me Wed. every local official needs to oppose FBI taking over: "Definitely do not trust the FBI, that has given authority for ICE agents to terrorize our communities here in Minneapolis. There's no reason they should be owning the tragedy they caused."

Sure, DHS could claim self-defense, claim it was in furtherance of federal duties, claim the Supremacy Clause.
Let them do it in a court of law.

![States can prosecute anyone for violations of state law, regardless of their rank or authority. Murder is a felony in the state of Minnesota, as it is in every other state. Within the last several years, we saw Minnesota successfully prosecute a murder, committed by a law enforcement officer, that was documented on tape and broadcast to the world.
The Supremacy Clause does give federal officials some protections from state laws, but they “only appl[y] when federal officials are reasonably acting within the bounds of their lawful federal duties,” according to a position paper issued by the University of Wisconsin Law School.
