Even a year ago I could afford to bring nutritious food in regularly for the student pantry. It’s harder to do that now but imperfect help is still help and sometimes someone just needs a full belly to get through the day. #littlefreepantry

At AFT-OR Winter School, they gave out little pots with basil seeds. Mine sprouted over the weekend! I’m going to divide them out for myself and my coworkers once they’re a bit bigger. #windowgarden #growyourfood #union #aft

No matter how crummy a day is, filling the pantry is a joy. Feeding and caring for my community is my source of hope and what keeps me going when things seem bleak.

I try to thrift, trade, or reclaim most of my yarn and textiles. This thrifted wool yarn is going to become my “moss” shawl.

I believe that every day you have to vote for the world you want to live in, so I steward a Little Free Pantry at a community college. It’s hard to learn and work when you’re hungry. Students tell me that they come to class because the pantry means that they get to eat twice that day.
