As to who should/shouldn’t be out on the streets. We are quickly approaching a time when that question will be irrelevant. You can’t disrupt medical care, rob the public pension system and mistreat the military with toral disregard. 5/

In my opinion, what matters is the target of the response and determining the ultimate goals of the protest. Those goals must not imitate the nature of the status quo. Thus the target of the response must never be the resistance or the materials that help the people of the resistance to thrive. 4/

Thus, they demand “peace” as a response to the hell they’ve set in motion and “nice locals” in response to the voluminous reach of their treachery. Am I advocating for violence? I am noting who is throwing the first stone. Once you incite violence, I don’t believe you get to dictate the response. 3/

They insist on picking a fight through an onslaught of inimical legislation, then demanding the terms of protest. 🤔 Not only do they demand the terms of protest but they attempt to manipulate the protest by describing the required characteristics of protest leaders. 2/

I love how folks are returning/improving their capacity to grow their own produce. My relatives were sharecroppers. Working the land for food increasingly became a source of shame. We let that part of our history pull us away from our love for “scratching the soil” for nourishment.

I keep thinking about this. Right now, I think we would do well to pay attention to the mental and physical wellbeing of our community. How well are we doing and what can we do to improve those states of being? Money/capitalism is not the elixir as some think.

4/ I think too many focused on the wrong “frames” for liberation. The optics have betrayed us. True liberation can happen but our analysis needs to move beyond the illusions of capitalism and alliances.

3/ this nation was suffering from what I would call a cultural stroboscopic syndrome. We appeared to be moving forward when in truth we’ve been moving backward. The way we have been imagining those wheels of progress is a phenomenon that we have yet to overcome.
