Sometimes Occam's Razor is correct & it really was about what they all said at the time: American adventurism fueled by a bunch of amoral careerists, high on their own think tank supply.
They really DID think this was a good and smart thing to do and were willing to lie about WMDs to justify it.

Saying "it was for oil" ignores both the fact that nothing any of them had said before (and they had been advocating for this sort of thing since the 90's) or since really concerned that much, AND the fact that if it was, they were spectacularly bad at grabbing oil (which they easily could have).

This is a false dichotomy.
WMDs was indeed a lie. But the "no blood for oil" (which I myself chanted in the street at the time) was also incorrect. PNAC and other neocons were up front and consistent about their motivations, and it was about rearranging the middle east as part of a US lead project.

I was so pissed when I priced out a build early this summer. I held out hoping the prices would go back down, but my fan rig on my guy took a shit and I just had to pull the trigger last week before I lit my basement on fire

I think a lot of people THINK that if they had no worries about money they want to live in a place that is a constant party with a ton of attractions, without realizing that Vegas deeply sucks.
