Meanwhile gun violence here is so common that we are numb to it. And those same right wing news sources downplay gun violence because it doesn’t fit the agenda.

The right also believes every large city and blue state are violent hellscapes while violent crime per capita is higher in rural areas.

As an American I can tell you that our right wing news sources sensationalize anything having to do with knife violence in the UK. The whole idea being “look they don’t have guns but still have crime,” and it creates the illusion that knife crime is a constant problem.

This line: “And while Republicans generally don’t want to add to the federal deficit,” is just not reflective of reality. Republicans talk about the deficit when they aren’t in the White House, when they are in the WH they add to it in catastrophic fashion. Deficits always rise under the GOP.
