agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

223.8 💪🏾 Plateaued for a bit last month because I was traveling & eating out for a few weekends in a row. My weight for most of May stayed at 229-231 until 5/26 and hit 223.8 5on 5/28.

Ain’t no way I lost almost 8lb in a week so it was all bloat 😭
I hit 239lb when I posted this and I’m currently 229lb with a 5K race scheduled for tomorrow morning.

I have *maybe* 2 pairs of pants that still fit. My gym shorts are getting loose too 😭
I broke through my last weight loss plateau! I’m excited that I’m still moving toward the goal but I’m running out of old pants to wear 😅

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote.

There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP

Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

Please explain what just happened. Is there no way to stop this w the reconciliation to be used by GOP to get around the filibuster? Are we sunk?

White parents should talk to their kids about racism at minimum because racism is a thing that definitely exists.
"White parents who see themselves as egalitarian must recognize that the stakes are now higher than ever. If you want to raise children who reject racism rather than passively absorbing it, right now, today, talk with your child about race and racism."

Why It’s Important to Talk about Race with Children
Children start learning about race and racism as early as preschool. Talking about race early, however difficult, will help them become more antiracist

"The Black mentor class is being fired, not just on television but throughout America."

And that's why it will never be enough to "express sympathies" and send "thoughts and prayers". If you want to make a difference, hire, platform, support, and put on Black folks. Anything less is cheap talk.
Cancelling @joyannreid.bsky.social means the door she held open for the next generation of Black voices will slam shut. Without her, the next her, won't get platformed by white media. That, of course, is why white media pushed her out.
