One of my favorites. His follow up - I Am a Strange Loop - is more philosophy than science but also in my top 5 favorite non-fiction books.
The one thing I remember from (partially) reading "Godel-Escher-Bach: The eternal golden braid" is that a system can't be proved from within that system. Emergent intelligence from complexity is also covered in this 1979 book.

Question (as I don’t know) - if the companies funding the Epstein ballroom are donating to the Trust for the National Mall, are th donations tax deductible on the corporate (or individual) taxes? (Not that they pay any).
