A baby jumper to donate, using the itty bitty pretty I must have knitted nearly 20 by this point.

I wanted to learn to crochet, so I designed and made a crochet cardigan (the button band and hems are knit so this is technically a knitting project) it's made of ~100 granny squares, all unique.

A 4ply lace shawl in silk/linen/wool with a bit of sock yarn to make up the difference. Mostly knitted while on a tramp.

A 4ply all over stranded yoked sweater. The pattern doesn't really come through in the photos but in person it's lovely

An 8 ply jumper for my 3 year old, made with yarn dyed by my sister in law. Cool colour effect from slipping stitches.

A chunky bottom up jumper with mystery yarn that turned out not quite to be enough for both sleeves. Boy was I sick of garter rib by the time this one was done.

A 4ply singlet made using a massive cone of cotton/merino/possum/nylon. Not fully happy with how untidy the edges are.

It's nearly the end of the year, and I clearly won't finish any of my WIPs before then, so here's a thread of my 2025 knitting projects.

Stellantis already makes the fiat 500, which is kei car adjacent

I'm looking forward to just how terrible a job Ford, GM and Stellantis do when they try to design a US kei car.

This has to be one of the highest ROIs around... Spending $2.5M per year on cycle trails and getting $1.28B back...

There's even fake modal filters that would fix this if they didn't just deadend into fences or locked gates.

Love how they try to sell this as "flanked by two railway stations" when the race track, army base, a secure government biolab and a gated retirement village make it practically impossible to walk to the closet one.

Still needs finishing and blocking for shape, but that's looking not too bad.

Someone needs to remind Andrew that if Wellington got its "fair share" of transport funding it would get a lot less so that Canterbury could get a lot more...

It's all just "guidance" for permitted activities but compliance with the guidance makes a difference for whether a discretionary proposal gets approved.

The Wellington district plan includes all this stuff btw:

we either achieve fully automated luxury space communism or we all just die (I can't believe this is a real graph)

In NZ we're heading down the massive ute route, but the hardware store will still just lend you a free trailer for your car.

It says we have to "effectively" implement the Paris agreement.

If we're saying we don't care if our implementation is actually effective, we're not doing that.
