The House of Lords is currently debating amendments to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

We supported Lord Russell with his amendment calling for a comprehensive early years strategy, including the rollout of #StartforLife, improved data collection & a national social care workforce plan.

In summing up the debate on Lord Russell’s amendment, Minister Jacqui Smith confirmed the government is committed to publishing a best start in life strategy this year and are strengthening family services through Family Hubs and the Start for Life programme.
