Maybe compare with a conventional number line and lean into the idea of convention in math. What is it? What are its benefits? How is this mathematical thinking 100% correct and yet might get marked wrong?

Students sometimes struggled to organize their counting when we did an introduction. If we were organizing 4 objects, they might list ABCD, then ADCB, then DBCA, etc. so it became tough to find all possibilities. With Dominos this structure becomes more tangible and visible
