I do wonder how much a graph of Ratio of Representatives to Voters over time would explain this "sudden" stoppage.

I'm certainly sympathetic to this attitude (I *also* hate people looking at me), but at the same time, I think we probably shouldn't "resent" people for liking video podcasts.
Our brains are literally optimized for multi-modal processing. For some, video + audio is a (minor) accessibility matter.

Ever notice how all these "can't you just celebrate this holiday as a secular event" folks only ever choose Christian holidays to secularize?
If gentiles get to impose a "secular" Christmas on us, are we gonna be allowed to impose on them a "secular" Shabbat? No more movie theaters on Saturdays.

Ultimately, the Prequel Trilogy had its Renaissance not *just* because the youngins grew up to the age where nostalgia kicked in, but because the very design of Clone Troopers lends itself to fandom in the exact same way 40k does — and in the exact way the Sequel Trilogy doesn't.
