#OnThisDay in protest history, 1973: A ‘Defence of Civil Liberties’ march from Somers Town to New Scotland Yard (organised by ‘Ad Hoc Committee for Defence of Civil Liberties’, proposed by Camden squatter/“king of the hippies” Sid Rawle,). Marchers carry a paper maché bomb which the cops confiscate.
