1/2 Complete! Excuse the husband's limited wingspan. First time doing HSTs. I learned a few things. It is very difficult to get perfect points with HSTs. And I also learned that not perfect points does not bother me nearly as much as mismatched plaids on the side seams of store bought pajama pants.

Looking out at the fresh snow. "What is this shit, mom?"

2/2 And Shadow gave his slink of approval.

1/2 I'm making progress on the quilt top. I felt like sewing today, not cutting or pressing so I broke my own rule about not sewing blocks together before they were completely laid out. (It was a new rule and nobody listens to me anyway.) Three more rows for twin size!

Making progress on the starburst quilt top. I like to take photos as I go because it is much easier to identify layout issues that way. I had made a goober in the third row that basically threw the whole thing out. Of course the mistake was in the part I had already sewn into rows. 🙄

And here it is in its new home, our spare bedroom. It's not big, but it'scozy. I kind of but not really tried to match the curtain fabric but if it doesn't work I can always make new curtains! And make a quilt out of the old ones.

I finally finished binding this quilt. I love everything about it. The colours and how they go with the large block feature fabric are just scrumptious. I lucked out with the backing and I love how it both matches and contrasts with the colours in the feature fabric.

The sun is streaming so gloriously in the window. I've had to kill three of those tiny jumping spiders it woke up. How the heck do they get in here anyway?

This one is easy! Start with 7 inch squares and make into hst. Big blocks makes fast work!

I started a new quilt today. I'm doing it in stages, the cutting, marking, sewing, block trimming. This is how far I got today. It's going together so quickly it's almost scary! This one is part of my quest to USE MY STASH!!!

The third of three crumb quilt tops is done. See those blue strips in the middle? I meant to do that. It's not that I didn't measure and ran out of the red/pink because I just started cutting and sewing. No way. Who would do that? Not me.

Shadow has stage 2 kidney failure and requires special $$$ food. Also has diabetes and requires twice daily insulin injections but that's another story.... but it's all okay now because the lids to the super small ridiculously expensive cans come with little cat ears. So worth it.

Finished binding this scrappy Dots and Dashes quilt. I love the pattern but it was harder to get the large blocks to fit together than I thought it would be. Still love the two inch squares, tho. I've made a few quilts featuring the small squares now with more to come!

Finished the green quilt for my sister and had it quilted and machine bound for sturdiness. It looks great and I hope she can use it. It is scary thinking of her living away from home in longterm care without her things and her people. I do know she is well taken care of.

Our boy Shadow was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney failure a few weeks ago. Got that sorted with special food but now he also has diabetes and will need insulin shots twice a day. Poor baby. And poor cat mommy and cat daddy, having to learn to give shots to the poor baby.

Caught this little guy just outside my window. Hoping for bugs in the railing?

The Shadow Box. From a cat that didn't look at a box for more than two years to a cat that spends half his life in a box.

Lori from Highway 10 has longarmed almost all my quilts since the start. This pattern is stress free - very few points, seams that directionally work and strip piecing. So fast and still looks awesome! Very happy with how it turned out. Off to Lori next week for quilting.

The back yoke of my jean jacket is done! I will most likely add butterflies, etc. but for now it's good. On to the next area! I've never used a water soluble transfer before. Despite the fact they tend to smudge while working in a tight area, I'm pretty happy with them!

I'm in Toronto for a couple of weeks and have time to work on a portable project. I found an awesome jean jacket at a thrift store and am currently plastering it in embroidery. Such fun!

Second crumb quilt done! This one went way faster with the wide sashing. I don't like it as much as the wonky sashing but this one didn't hurt my dinosaur pea brain, so... worth it!

I have a stack of finished crumb blocks in adult, ie. more boring colours. There's a few bright spots and even though there are no teddy bears or kitty cats, there are a few chickens running amok. Because there was no one here to stop me.
