We always throught SkyNet was an emergent entity in an advanced system.

Turns out people are just going to auto accept it into prod.

I have never seen the midnight oil burned by so many companies at once to rip a feature out.

I'd love to see the graph of app submission Apple is getting with the only changelog being "removes IAP"

so much of what I see coming out of vibe coders is just them creating things that can be done. Not that should or need to be done.

The democratization of the ability to build only makes the skill of understanding what to and what not to build more critical .

why aren’t QR codes clickable as links in desktop and browsers?

Vibe Coding is the new Low/No Code.

The Egyptian government had to pay MrBeast for that. That’s a greater dissemination of Egyptology across the world then you could ever get otherwise.

All policy fights come down where you want zero waste versus allowed slippage for impact.

conservatives; zero waste of tax dollars even if some eligible expenses are cut to ensure it

liberals; zero waste in environmental protections, even if regulations prevent some valid progress

I just learned that it's common for Chinese companies refuse to hire people who graduated during covid. They assume the education under restrictions was subpar.

The lack of a GPU graph in Mac's Activity Monitor ages the OS.

All mandatory trainings are gonna have to start, including "are you human" captcha. I already know about people using OpenAI Operator and Claude’s version to do them.

The more correct take it asking what the got by giving it away.
No matter what DeepSeek cost, the important part is, they could afford to give it away.

Elon is going to claim he can do Stargate for $50B now 🤣

The US has to race to get a open source reasoning model out. Distilling inbues "dark knowledge" and right now there is a CCP bias in every R1 distilled model.

The cost savings of distilling are to great, everyone is going to use the best reasoning model out there. We want it USA biased.

Would you accept a discount on your insurance if your autonomous car's cameras informed police when they saw people breaking the law?

How many people would?

I would pay non-trivial money for an AI that lets me ask “the one where they turn baby mode and have a spinner to get the thing" and it would tell me what episode of the show my kids are talking about.

Companies are adopting a wait-and-see approach to hiring new grads and junior positions due to AI's potential impact on the workforce. People represent the most significant business expense, and the worst position for any company is overhiring.

Product idea: Fitbit Brain. It's an EKG that tracks calorie consumption if your mind.

your brain is responsible for a third of your energy consumption. Ideal for gamifing and making people sit on the couch thinking as hard as freaking possible.

Claude Artifacts are a game changer. I find myself writing tiny websites more often than I use spreadsheets now.

In 2020 I thought we had elected Kamala. That was maybe partly true in ways I didn't forsee.

I have the same feeling now. The next president is super old and it's likely the VP takes over. Same situation, different party.

Real change will happen when younger generations decide to be in charge.

4o is pairing.
o1 is delegation.

Totally different scripts with people and models. Much in the same ways.

Python is a popular language and hyper scaler support it above everything else because then they sell more compute.

It's 2020 version of the voicemail message before the beep being 58 seconds long and charge by the minute.

My new problem is remembering which AI tool. I asked a question when I have to go back and refer to it.
