Jess Michaels, a survivor of 27 years, just spoke with unshakable courage before the world: for herself, for Virginia Giuffre, & for every survivor silenced for too long.

Her voice broke through decades of denial. The survivors will be silent no longer.

Nigel Farage is claiming to Congress that the UK gov deliberately withheld details of the Southport attacker from the public.

This is dangerous and it’s false. The attacker was under 18, and so a court had to give express permission to release his name in exceptional circumstances, which it did.

Why the data driving government could be wrong
Government decisions are led by statistics—on the economy, employment, housing and more. But what if the numbers are unreliable?

Trump’s post was 7 minutes after the NYSE opened—before Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the 90-day pause on tariffs. The sequence and timing directly support insider trading and market manipulation. By informing people to buy before the policy was publicly disclosed, Trump broke the law.

Correct. I was born in Puerto Rico and am now a proud Canadian. What Trump and his billionaire cronies did to Puerto Rico and continue to do to the Puerto Rican people is criminal. Sadly, the island has always suffered under colonialism and U.S. imperialism. Canada will never let that happen.

This Byline Times story on Farage pictured with far-right activists has not been picked up by any established media outlet - including liberal/democratic/left publications. Why? Because people like being comfortable in their own power and status.

The newspaper I edit will keep sounding the alarm.

Quite simply THE BEST article I've read on the rise of the populist far-right and the urgent need for progressives to wake up to the new realities. I can't recommend it highly enough.
"That progressives have failed to grasp how utterly tech has changed everything in our political culture – esp. given revelations of the role of psychological profiling through social media – is exploited by the right as a new ‘Wild West’. Elon Musk, is the most logical next step in this trajectory"

PIP exists because life costs more if you are disabled. Those costs won’t magically disappear because the government decides to squeeze eligibility - disabled people already face a disproportionately high risk of poverty. This plan will push even more disabled people into poverty - not into jobs
🚨Plans to cut welfare benefits for those with extreme disabilities & unfit to work will be CATASTROPHIC for some of the poorest & most vulnerable people in our society

As @ukanticorruptioncoalition.org rightly points out to the Covid inquiry, its scrutiny of dodgy pandemic procurement is far too narrow in scope.

Here’s a previous investigation we did into the Nightingale hospitals – something the inquiry has no plans to look at:
