A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

#SCOTUS in unsigned, unexplained order allows Trump admin to deport individuals not to countries where they come from, but to any place in the world that will take them w/o notice or an option to be heard. www.npr.org/2025/06/23/g...
U.S. Supreme Court allows -- for now -- third-country deportations
A federal judge had previously said people must get at least 15 days to challenge their deportations to countries they're not originally from.

A stated goal for the admin is a focus on chronic disease. The FY2026 budget proposal for HHS is out now. Guess what isn’t in it? The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) at the CDC. Please write your reps and let them know this dept is important!

I just learned that there has been a new detection of H5N1 in dairy cows in Arizona. It may be a new spillover independent of the original one in Texas or last week's in Nevada.

So...great time to eliminate expertise in our national epidemic response capacity.
Doing the unthinkable: The deep cuts to the #CDC's workforce today are expected to decimate the Epidemic Intelligence Service, a program that has trained public health rapid responders for decades.

Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying “Why are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !”

Here’s a task for everyone today. Look up your representatives in the house and Senate and ask them why unelected people without a security clearance have access to things like Social Security numbers and what they plan to do about it.

When the zone is flooded with so much crap it is difficult to know where to start and everyone is paralyzed. Without a specific plan (I don’t have one yet myself) spend some time this weekend thinking about the advice John Lewis gave us - find a way to get in the way.
