This is at the front entrance of the apartment building in Mpls where my friend lives. Obviously there's the "that sign can't stop me cos I can't read" factor to consider, but I imagine it might cause at least a few of these shitheads to hesitate rather than immediately try to force their way in.

The adolescent me would have been bereft to hear of Bardot's passing, but I doubt that kid would have anticipated her all-too-reasonable disillusionment with fame & celebrity eventually curdling into hateful, misanthropic racism and her committing to that for the rest of her life. Oh, well.

"And that's the second one from Bovril Amphetamines, in session for us tonight, one of my favourite sessions for quite some time, as a matter of fact. Coming up next, the b-side of the new single by Bogshed - played the other side at completely the wrong speed last week... *chuckles*"

"Hi, Geoff. You're now in your 50s, no doubt with kids, a mortgage and chronic back pain. Isn't it time you got over your frequent public resentment of how all the creative freedom you enjoy is directly attributable to Portishead's music having found an audience amongst the kind of people you hate?"

A first-rate collection of Eddies, to which I would add Eddie Russ and Eddie Condon, as immortalised on the front door of one of my favourite watering holes here in Berlin.

Polite reminder that the current editor of The Times is the bigoted troglodyte Tony Gallagher, former editor of The Slum, responsible for the only Twitter block I ever received that I treated as a badge of honour.

Still yet to find a better summary of the futility of "hands across the aisle" than this quote from a 2018 Playboy interview with Michael Shannon.

From 1991, this is as adventurous a record as the Bomb Squad ever made, Public Enemy included. A barely controlled all-bets-are-off collision of styles released to widespread indifference at the end of sampling's Wild West era, when rap was still pluralist enough to accommodate it. Get familiar.
