Okay, but I can certainly see why it’s highly inconvenient for some people that the focus is on political corruption

I cannot stress enough how completely different the media coverage of all this would be if this were about a Democrat.

I cannot tell you how much doubt was consistently directed at the Gaza Health Ministry’s casualty numbers and how much pressure was put on news organizations to couch those numbers as unreliable.

Biden himself said they were fabricated!

Just made my Excel document for the books I'm going to read in 2026! Highlights include finishing up Stormlight and Realm of the Elderlings, as well as the new William baldwin.

What else should I read?

Being worried about a big narrative problem in your book and then realizing you already solved said problem months ago but forgot about it is the vibe for 2026.

Happy new year! My last book of my 2025 wrap up (which by the way you're allowed to do in 2026, everyone says so, especially if it's just the first day) is Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi.

This might be my favorite book I read in 2025, and the most suprising. Bacigalupi's...

#6 of my 2025 book wrap up is The World at Night by Alan Furst!

Every best of the year list needs an Alan Furst book! Furst might be my favorite contemporary author not working in fantasy. This is a reread, and it's one of my favorite Furst books...

#5 of my 2025 book wrap up is Piranesi, by Susanna Clarke. Another reread for me. I love this book! Love love love this book. I loved it even more the second time.

What is mystery? What does it mean to be a part of the place you live? This book asks...

#4 of my 2025 book wrap up is the Liveship Traders trilogy by Robin Hobb! (I said I was going to cheat).

I couldn't pick just one of these. Epic fantasy and high fantasy can be kind of a tough sell for me (although I really love some books in the genre!)...

#3 of the 2025 book wrap up is...

Neuromancer, by William Gibson.

This one was a reread for me, but it's been a long, long time.

My first reading of Neuromancer was a confused one. What the hell is happening here, I thought? It was difficult...

2025 book wrap up!

I read a lot of good books this year, and they deserve some love! I'm going to go through the seven or so of my favorites that I read this year, in no particular order. I will cheat on some of my entries and put multiple books or series because it is my list and I can!

Roughly 400 pages into this little hors d'oeuvre of a book.

Really enjoying it! Probably my favorite of the series so far. Stormlight is not my favorite Brandosando but I'm getting into this one.

I didn't think I could really get excited about a videogame announcement anymore but then I watched the teaser for the new Knights of the Old Republic game and, let me tell you, I was WRONG.

Dispatch is the best romantasy for guys that I've ever seen.

Obviously its not JUST for guys, but it works as romance for men better than most.

Completely obsessed with this album. I had to read Neuromancer again.
