Correction, best in class is 50% capture for CCS in operation, so the most we get from Carney's math is less than 20% reduction in emissions.

Carney talks about making Canada an oil superpower, did he wake up one morning to news that the IPCC scientists are wrong?

No Virginia, the models aren't wrong. There are 50 yrs of projections vs. actual observations to measure accuracy with and 17 studies confirm they are spot on.

Liberal greenwashing of the oil industry goes hand in hand with the massive subsidy on the TMX.

How about we fix the toll structure on the TMX pipeline first?
November 27, 2025 at 12:46 PM
How is shipping more oil to create GHG good for the climate, even if you believe the cool-aid that the oil industry reports methane emissions accurately and that extraction emissions magically all get sequestered?

And what about recouping the massive subsidy on the TMX pipeline?
November 27, 2025 at 12:43 PM
Before taxpayers agree to pay an additional $4B to upgrade the capacity of the TMX, we need to recoup the $34B already spent on a pipeline that never pays for itself.

Currently, taxpayers are subsidizing $13/b of oil flowing thru the pipeline based on tools that do not recover cost.

No amount of collective masturbation in Alberta alters the lack of business case for another oil pipeline.

OPEC's forecast for oil demand over the next 25 years is <1% growth per year, with the risk that advances in energy efficiency substitution may reduce demand growth to zero.

No one is talking about why the tanker ban exists in the first place.

#cdnpoli
November 24, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Carney left out the reason why the tanker ban exists.

According to Environment Canada, the Hectate Strait is the most hazardous waterway in Canada.

GOOGLE "marine hazards Hectate Straight" and see for yourself.

Yes, as evidenced by OPEC's forecast for oil.
November 21, 2025 at 12:36 PM
OPEC's forecast for oil demand hinges on India. Anything that changes demand for oil in India will accelerate peak oil and crush oil prices.

OPEC's forecast for oil demand hinges on India.

Anything that dramatically changes oil consumption in India will dramatically accelerate peak oil and crush oil prices.

Carney is agreeing to 2 new pipelines while greenwashing the oil industry.

His "firm commitment" to achieving Canada's climate targets amounts to insisting the oil industry eventually sequesters 22 MT of CO2 a year vs the 208 MT per year they emit already.

With no cap on extraction emissions.

$6 B a year buys a heat pump for every house in Ontario within 10 years.

Elbows-down Doug Ford wants to spend $Billions more on paying an American company to build SMRs that require American enriched Uranium.

The alternative is grid storage backed renewable power which is far cheaper & faster.

Tar sands emissions have increased 480% from 1990 to 2023 and we wonder why we cannot make our 2030 targets?

Pro tip: another pipeline is not the answer.

The list of infrastructure projects is a massive failure of imagination. Canada's economic future in the 21st century will look that same as the 18th century.

Dig it up and export it.

Is that really the best we can do?

No ambition for fusion power? Battery manufacturing...

Why are we not doubling down on creating a Green economy while we retreat from US trade?
September 6, 2025 at 12:46 PM
Conservative Prime Minister Mark Carney has the same climate strategy as Trump.

Now he wants to build yet another oil pipeline to the Pacific. It won't even carry NatGas which, arguably offsets use of coal (not really)

The last Liberal pipeline cost $32B and will never pay for itself.

> 50% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by an immigrant or the child of one. Anti-immigration facism sweeping the USA is in direct conflict with the American Dream.

Immigrants are more likely to create new businesses.

Evidently, making America great again requires dreams to die.
