Adding to this - I've seen the videos. I have seen things in person. But blaming someone trying to write a reasonable and very neutral story about the police and drug dealers for actually talking to the people he's writing about is intellectually a dead end.

I hear you on that. Never learned the "classics" and have no desire to do so, and have been playing both professionally and for fun for a couple of decades. The few other people songs I've learned over the years tend to be what I actually want to play, not "foundation" tracks... the fun's the thing.

Interestingly the original film kicks off big time in the third act. One of the few action movies which doesn't botch the landing in the third quarter.

But, what do I know? I don't dig films about giant robots, adaptations of common classic novels, fish bonking, 1st rate adaptations of 2nd rate comic characters, & skeezy gothic horror CGI-fests. I'm sure he's a genius
