Btw, Doyle ends his chapter on Ringo novelty songs with an approving nod towards that Courettes track.

Here's 'Go Go Go With Ringo' by The Whippets, a pre-teen trio featuring Jan Kerouac (daughter of Jack) and future Warhol superstar, performance artist and mother of Beck, Bibbe Hansen.

Do you know "R.I.N.G.O" by The Courettes? Nails that slightly creepy 60s novelty song vibe beautifully. Great tune too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=336R...

And now I've been introduced to the decidedly creepy Santa, Bring Me Ringo by Christine Hunter, just one of many Ringo-themed novelty records released during the first wave of U.S. Beatlemania. It was co-written and arranged by none other than Angelo Badalamenti.

The Beatles arriving at JFK Airport in February 1964 is such a famous piece of footage, and yet I have only just discovered via Doyle's Ringo book that one of the fan-made placards declared 'Beatles Unfair to Bald Men'.

That's amazing.

Here's me chatting to Michelle McManus on BBC Radio Scotland's Afternoons show about How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge), Sally Wainwright's Riot Women, and the romantic comedy drama Film Club starring - and co-written by - Aimee Lou Wood.

This is the maddest tour I've ever seen in my life. It seems like he's doing more gigs than there are days in the year.
A quite insane tour schedule
