I remember catching this on the Sci-Fi Channel back in 94-95 and I had technically seen anime before in the form of Speed Racer and Gatchaman (which aired in a cut-up version on Cartoon Network as "G-Force"), but this was the first "anime-ass" anime I had ever seen.

#7. Geese - Getting Killed - A Brooklyn band that Pitchfork Media glazes nonstop. Is this the 2000s? SNL just boosted their stock a bit so I took a listen. Some decent rhythmic ideas and arrangements, but mostly plays like lo-fi yacht rock for hipsters. Lacking some OOMPH, but inoffensive enough.
