Can someone kindly help me with a bibliographical query? Any publications on the #Greek govt-in-exile in #WW2, beside Clogg´s & Papastratis'? I can read #Greek with some understanding but searches are difficult. @swwstudiesedin.bsky.social @ndh-network.bsky.social @greekhistory.bsky.social?

Good point. But no, it is not.

Slightly odd. And I have spent a decade in Prague.

Academia edu has been a rather troublesome knowledge-visibility platform for quite some time now. Their new steps to monetise research to which they´ve not contributed prompt me to leave.
I´m still on RG which, as far as I can tell, has a different business model.

1,000 reads is not 100 citations. Not even 10. Still, not a bad attention score for an article discussing what some might consider, quite unjustly, a niche topic.

Earlier this month, a German historian who, although from a distance, had a great influence on my research on Second World War governments-in-exile, passed away. Requiescat in pacem.

Historians: tailoring a practical micro-course in #diplomatic #history for undergrads that extends beyond my period of expertise, I need help. Is there a compendium of key 19C diplomatic documents (treaties etc.) where these are rendered in English, not French?

In the offing for quite some time now. If anything drives POTUS, it´s a childish preoccupation with his lasting legacy, which is currently in the making. There may be none greater accolade for a statesman in office than the #NobelPeacePrize.

50 years of the Helsinki Final
Act 1975.

Having worked with “old guard” activists [a.k.a dissidents] in 🇺🇦🇵🇱🇨🇿🇸🇰🇨🇱🇦🇷🇧🇷 - I know personally how important the Helsinki Human Rights Declaration was to their work in the 1970s and 1980s.

That’s right the effect went beyond Europe and Canada and US.
The Helsinki accord was a masterpiece of European diplomacy. Fifty years on, we need its spirit more than ever | Kai Hebel and Richard Davy
The OSCE hasn’t stopped Putin’s aggression, but it has the potential to help broker a peace in Ukraine when the time is right, say authors Kai Hebel and Richard Davy

Bizarre! An MEP leaves her position after just 1 year (out of 5!), gives no real reason, and people hail her “legacy”.

Why run if you are not interested in the job? Or, if you were, why not explain what changed?
