the RC obsession with the VM.

it's the only way they can get to JC, it seems.

douglas adams covered this phenomena off in great detail in Hitchhikers...

i always go back to this map whenever the airline industry starts talking about emissions. that's a lot of emissions into the ionosphere every single minute of the day.

in london they have dedicated "crane trucks" to remove illegally parked cars. this is perhaps the most famous.

which brings me to the picture in your article.

i was the Ag guy.

the scenarios for agricultural collapse are terrifying. places we currently grow most of our staples are in relatively marginal climates. change that much, and the risk of famines, wars, population displacement (more war!), is huge.

meanwhile... over on the #DeadBird site... there has been no new news for the last 3 days... or is this all that matters...?

funny. if you look at it, life, so to speak, hasn't really come up with a new idea for vertebrates in a long, long time.

shorten the tail and neck, and make it stand upright, you have a fairly human-ready skeleton.

why did we never protect our lower instestine???

oh, could you imagine a purple bol sauce!

we get an astonishing variety from the Isle of Wight here in Hampshire. nothing purkle, but certainly black!

heritage beef toms from down there... we almost live on fresh tomato pasta sauces in summer!

"Underlying demand, which is how much electricity we use, has been growing since 2022, however rooftop solar has supplied much of that growth."

that's. f*cking. awesome!!!

rooftop solar. free* power!

* yes, yes. i know. i use that power to run the aircon whilst i am consuming my zero cost lunch.
February 2, 2026 at 12:38 PM
well, it's a good conspiracy theory if nothing else!

there is previous art for this kind of thing.

the Otways fire in Victoria has one last "from hell's heart..." moment. they used so much water fighting the fires, the public water supply has run out of treated water and is basically unsafe to drink! even for your pets!

i do recall when Hyundai entered the Oz market with the original Excel. looked awful. as powerful as a fart in a thunderstorm.

but... cheap as chips. mainly reliable. 12,000km services???

bizarrely feature rich. do you remember how much it cost to get a radio in an aussie car back when?
February 1, 2026 at 10:29 PM
my goodness, this is quite the read.

Jenrick is an "Establishment" plant to bring down Reform from within.

plus everything that has gone wrong on the conservative side of politics is because the BoE deliberately sabotaged her as PM.

she needs therapy. badly.

i'd thought maybe he might have his ears sewn back and three weeks detention in a sack on the palace maggot pit.

yup. reminiscent of this fabulous scene from Apocalypse Now:

I'm Lt. Carlsen. You don't know how happy this makes me in delivering all this.

Why?

Because now I can get out of here... if I can find a way.

You're in the asshole of the world, Captain!
