Was kind of expecting this as '25 starting keeper Lexi Gonzales graduated and backup Maggie Manning already announced a transfer to Syracuse.

Yeah, I saw something written about how UCF/WVU were on field disappointments w/1st year HCs and that didn't make sense to me as both teams were basically re-doing their rosters from scratch. Still don't have super high hopes for UCF/Frost but year 2 WVU I think will look a lot like UH did this year

I don't think the premise is a bad one, essentially that the league post the big 2 names leaving would need to step up its game in recruiting and in the years since we have seen exactly that. I think OSU will also be a team to watch in that regard in the next couple of years, as well.

Coog fans (yours truly included) love to overuse the "this is why they didn't want us in a power conference" line... but this is certainly why they didn't want us in a power conference.

And frankly, the consistent ass kissing of the TX state government heads by UH and having a donor as Chairman certainly helped us get the Big 12 move over the line in 2021.

Yeah, to be clear I'm not worked up about Fertitta's son being on the BOR

I would assume its cronies/sons of cronies (oh hey, our latest appointment) with some loose connection to UH or the city, but that might even be giving Gov hot wheels too much credit

This is a bottom 10 (maybe bottom 5) resourced P4 program & even with the advantage of being in a talent rich city like Houston, getting 9 wins at this job right now should put Willie Fritz in Big 12/national coach of the year discussions.
