Very powerful words from one of the Catholic allies at the interfaith vigil
In a reflection delivered during an online interfaith prayer service hosted by Faith in Action, Tobin employed some of the strongest language yet by a U.S. cardinal to condemn the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.

When fear escalates, so does the pressure to respond in kind.

But across the country, people are choosing a different path—not denial, not passivity, but disciplined nonviolence.

They are leading with love, even when it’s costly.

Johnny Zokovitch writes that current events in this country call us to consider the example of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German theologian whose Christianity led him to resist the Nazi regime; he demonstrated what it means to be a Christian when surrounded by a culture that opposes Jesus's teachings.
Bonhoeffer challenges us to discipleship for times just like this
By Johnny Zokovitch Events in this country have, on occasion, given me reason to seek out the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German Lutheran pastor and theologian whose discipleship to Jesus led him to resist the Nazi regime. His resistance eventually cost him his life; Bonheffer was executed by hanging at the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp by the SS just days before the camp was liberated in the waning days of World War II.

Pax Christi International expresses its deep concern about the new "Board of Peace," which risks masking power politics and geopolitical interests under the rhetoric of peace without addressing the structural causes of injustice and violence, among many other troubling aspects.
Pax Christi International declaration on the so-called “Board of Peace”
On Thursday, January 22, President Trump announced the start of the "Board of Peace," which requires a $1 billion membership fee. According to Reuters, "US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the board's focus would be on making sure the plan for peace in Gaza was fulfilled but that it could also 'serve as an example of what's possible in other parts of the world.'"
