Southern Germany, urban, detached: Front door for all visitors, through garage for residents.
Quebec, Canada, urban, flat: There is only a front door.
West Midlands, UK, urban, terraced and semi-detached: Back garden only accessible with key. Rear entrance used for access from garden only.

Switzerland did have number plates on bikes up to 2011, but they were proof of insurance, not identification. They stopped it, because everybody had public liability anyways and the costs exceeded the benefits de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrrad...
