The Hole in the Wall and the Lawrence Arms for Portsmouth. Certainly the two best traditional pubs for me. No real surprises.

A local belgian bar to me (on the south coast of England) has a house (or in fact, Huis, as that is its name) badged Pilsner, Wit, and Blonde. Never worked out where they originate, I should ask but never have.

I may be too young to remember a time before NEB. JHB, Darwin's Origin and some of the others have been around since I've been drinking ale. They seemed like interesting examples of bitter as opposed to a different style. Just an evolution of the existing thing.

Some craft breweries in Portsmouth have restarted selling cask ale. However, we recently lost probably the two most trad breweries in the area (Irving and Fallen Acorn) so there could be an element of filling a space locally.
