It is my opinion that people should focus more on
"How do we get through the next five years?"

and less on

"If only it was 2015 again!“

⚡️Trump envoy Kellogg to depart White House, leaving Ukraine without key US champion in moment of crisis.

Kellogg's exit will cost Kyiv its chief advocate in the Trump government as the country faces escalating Russian attacks, worsening battlefield conditions, and a domestic corruption scandal.

In 35 seconds John Simpson sums up in the Trump brokered deal in a way that was totally missing from the hour of drivelling gushing nonsense I heard on the Today programme this morning.
BBC News's John Simpson hitting the nail on the head:

"What this doesn't do in any way is sort out the Palestinian question"

"What it does is stop the agony that people in Gaza have been suffering for two years"

"But it doesn't create a future path for them"

"Maybe that can come"

The Crown in the constitution of the UK.

Theoretically indefensible; (currently) practically useful.
King Charles has done his sleight of hand - the date for Trump’s State Visit has now been set for September 17-19.

Parliament won’t be sitting so there’s no question of Trump addressing it, however much his ego demands. And Charles will be in residence in Windsor not Buck Pal. No London trip.

House of Commons will be in recess and not sitting due to political party conference season

A great piece about the city I am proud to have grown up in. Now, just as during my childhood, its diversity is its strength and this is true of Britain’s other great cities. This upsets people with small minds (and yes a professor can have a small mind).
They hate London because it is beautiful
Matthew Goodwin went to that there London the other day and what he found shook him to his core.

RIP Val Kilmer aka Nick Rivers in one of the most under appreciated comic films ever.
val kilmer’s turn in TOP SECRET is one of the single best comedy performances ever committed to film, both in terms of comic precision and mechanical virtuosity. just watch this whole clip in its entirety; it’s stunning
