Because it is now appropriate here is my 2025 cover collage from StoryGraph. Dedicating two evenings a week to reading was a good habit.

My huge feature request for all software in general that is used to create or edit anything at all:

Contextual undo/redo!

Let me mark a section of the text, select a section of the image/graphic, highlight a selection of the timeline, or whatever else, and press Ctrl+Z to undo whatever I did […]

So, just an update to all my monkeywrench homies out there. When we smash the AI datacentres, make sure we get all the useful hardware out intact. Sales of RAM could finance the revolution.

#yycbike commute on Tibb’s Eve. Word of the day is: inversion. Left home, in Strathcona Park, at -3. Hit a wall of cold air crossing Bow at Red Bridge. Rode through lots of river fog and -18 temps until I popped out of the river valley at 130th. -4 when I crossed Deerfoot. Saw 2 coyotes, 1 on video

It is the 4th of December. I don’t want my year in review of anything. The year has some not insignificant amount of time left in it. How do I make it stop?

I urge anyone in the UK to watch this and sign the letter here: https://www.nebriefing.org/open-letter-keir

It's about the certain societal collapse from climate change if we don't act decisively now. Here's a YouTube video on it. It's obviously a global issue, so I would recommend the video to […]

#yycbike Dec 1 report.
Worst part of last weeks ride (Centre to EV) was the best this morning. Clear, no ice ruts! From Inglewood to Glenmore - thin hard pack snow describes most of the trip. Passable but could be better. Weekend crews that don’t give a fck maybe? 🤔 Almost hit a deer in Carburn! 😲

Do I know anyone in #yyz looking to adopt a cat? My niece’s baby daughter is showing signs of being allergic and she is looking to rehome her two. Female aged 7 and male aged 2. They can go separately. Pls boost.

The social web is rapidly flooding with fully synthetic AV content, also known as AI slop.

The videos are short and effective – and they can be quite dangerous.

In this report (which is not 8 or 16 seconds, but almost 9 minutes long), Silja Thoms and DW's Fact Check Team explain what the […]
