Interesting that it is finally making headline news that COVID-19 is linked to cancer. Our page has studies dating back years that have already shown this link. Visit it at www.citizenscovid.com/cancer/. Even knowing this, people will refuse to mask up. Sad timeline we are in. #covid19 #covid
Increased Cancer Risks - Citizens COVID Coalition
Ongoing research suggests that COVID-19 may increase cancer risks by causing long-term harm to the body. Having a history of cancer may also increase your risk of serious illness and death from COVID-...

There have been countless studies that have proven it time and time again, such as this one that highlights how much better N95s are than surgical masks: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

A systematic review and meta-analysis of the efficacy of N95 respirators and surgical masks for protection against COVID-19
Former meta-analyses concluded that there was not sufficient evidence to determine the effect of surgical masks and N95 respirators. We collected randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and conducted a…

Oh, I'm sorry, there's something darkly amusing about Swedish Universities slowly realising that covid is airborne in the sixth year of the pandemic.

I mean... better late than never, but:

"That's how quickly you can get covid-19 through the air"

Living with a #chronicillness turns everyday tasks into hurdles.

Folding laundry? Exhausted after one load.
Making dinner? Pain kicks in halfway through.
Chat with a friend? Brain fog steals your words.
Grocery shopping? Need a day to recover.
Quick shower? Feels like you ran a marathon.

According to WastewaterSCAN, #H5 bird flu has been found at every wastewater testing site in California in the past two weeks.

Makes you wonder how many people consumed the #H5N1 infected raw milk.

It still amazes me that one of my chronic illnesses is triggered simply by standing.

And we live In a world where 90% of daily tasks revolve around that exact trigger.

This has been a looong time coming. I’ve literally waited about a year. This is first chair in my life that my parents weren’t involved in the process of getting; that’s definitely a weird feeling. I’m looking forward to having sense of independence back.

Flu is important, but COVID is next level.

From vaccine recommendations to isolation guidance, American leaders seem bent on aligning COVID policies to those for flu. That threatens to minimize the disease’s still-high toll.

Important info re teenager with #H5N1 in #Canada.

They will be conducting a more detailed post-mortem on an ill family dog that was euthanized. IF the dog was infected, it would be the first case.

Important to continue to investigate potential sources - food, animals, other sick persons

Do I still wear my N95 Aura respirator in public indoor settings?
Yes. Yes I do.
Because Covid is still here and a wealth of research shows infections can cause cumulative and lasting damage to my body, including my brain and heart. Masks work. Vaccines work. Prevention is better than regret.

UK Biobank study, which has performed serial cognitive testing/brain MRI predating pandemic, examined ~800 people w/ & w/o #COVID19: those who’d been infected had more brain shrinkage & cognitive decline. Still true even after excluding those hospitalized.

The preliminary sequence from the H5N1 human case in British Columbia has been posted and it is not good news. The virus potentially has a quasispecies at HA residue 226 (H3 numbering). This is bad news because we know that mutations at residue 226 can increase binding to human receptors. 1/

This is very important data on route of transmission of COVID. Airborne is a definite and proven route. That debate is over.

In NSW Australia, 1 in 7 of *all* COVID 19 deaths occurred *after catching COVID in healthcare.

This does not include those that caught it in the community and then came to hospital.

Prioritise wearing a well fitted respirator in hospital *please*.

🥰
Just to let you know, the studies the UK gov used to develop lack of masking policies in healthcare when omicron emerged actually show that around 33% of transmission occurs when there are no symptoms.

33%.

Please wear a respirator even if you feel well.
