As I come back to my PhD work on trust after a few months away, I am reminded that in order for students to feel that teachers are not ‘out to get them’, teachers need to acknowledge that students are more than empty vessels in need of instruction - they are individuals with their own experiences.

Salazar, Portugal’s dictator, also did not allow beards in the military.

It’s elitist and exclusionary. I was looking forward to the Avatar set, but will not feed this unrelenting machine hungry for profit.

It seems quite telling that the majority of education experts pedalling AI are those that don’t seem afraid AI companies will steal their work and sell it to schools without compensating them.

A national blackout in Portugal. No electricity, no phones, no signal to the outside world for over 8 hours.
And it was my mother’s carefulness that made us feel connected.
