Recently retired psychologist in Birmingham, AL. Now what?

I’m a work in progress, just like all of you.
I’m tired of reading the phrase, “My big, beautiful bill.” As per usual, the MSM plays right into Old Orange Puss’ hands by repeating it ad nauseum. Let’s help them out by suggesting a new, more accurate shorthand description. My offering: “His 50 pound waste of BS smeared paper.”

Musk’s recent post calling Alexander Vindman a “traitor” and saying he will “pay the price” should be the line that causes the remaining people of goodwill on Twitter to leave. See my commentary on Substack: roberthubbell.substack.com/p/raising-ou...

Elon Musk gets a lot of hate.

But not nearly enough. We can do much better!

Hard to argue with this.

An old favorite

This is true, of course. The problem is, they’re fine with it.

Which is ultimately better for everyone.

I just unliked Daily Beast. Have followed them for upwards of a decade, but I finally just got tired of their BS.

No, just one Kennedy. But I get your point.
This time around, the Kennedys are assassinating us.

Plus ca change…
For me, the most incredible artefacts from the ancient world are the letters people wrote on clay tablets and sent to one another over thousands of years in Mesopotamia, going back to more than 5,000 years ago.

They contain recognisable humanity, warmth and humour. Here's a thread of my favourites.

I just saw another fundraising post which promises that whatever amount I donate will be matched by some shadowy figure, thereby doubling or tripling the amount donated. This has always struck me as sketchy. So, if I don’t donate, the shadowy entity won’t either? No sir. I don’t like it.

Agreed, but I’d delete the “climate” specifier. They deny the validity of science.
There seem to be two qualifications for high office under Trump:
Sexual assault allegations and climate science denial.

Defending Meghan McCain makes my teeth clench, but calling her perfectly reasonable post a “meltdown” is absurd.

The Republican TV personality’s apparent dismay with how Gaetz’s nomination is unfolding comes a day after her husband called him “a sex trafficking drug addicted piece of s**t.”

Most of this is over my head, but I’m posting it for reference.
I learned some stuff about Bluesky I did not know by reading this.

Maybe worth passing it on to others so we can all start getting the full benefit of the 🦋.

The only reason I stayed on Twitter as long as I did was that it was fun to have access to news almost as it happened.

I’m hoping to make Bluesky more like that, as I learn how to curate my feed.

Except that there’s no such thing as true altruism, nor should we want there to be. Isn’t it better all around that we teach our kids that there’s joy to be had from being good people?
Altruism is the beautiful art of selflessly caring for others' well-being and happiness. It's a powerful force that strengthens our connections and makes the world a better place.
