so I just had to pull an emergency maneuver with a running washing machine when I realized that in my half-awake state I'd somehow managed to put in dish soap instead of laundry sauce

I mean, it's not unpleasant - the chocolate, mint & chili are all really well balanced, none of them overpower the others

but "pleasant" also feels like the wrong word? like, it's not intuitively appealing, the id does not immediately crave more

when fully ripe, they look... like dates!
A single date sitting on a white surface. It looks like you'd expect a date to - brown, grape-shaped, wrinkly - albeit a bit lighter in color than the most common date varieties. The same date cut in half lengthwise. One half still has the stone in it. The flesh is various shades of brown, from golden through to the color of molasses.

The same bag of fresh dates from the quoted post, but now many of them have ripened, softening and turning golden-brown. The flesh shrinks as they ripen but the skin doesn't, giving them a slightly shriveled, wrinkly appearance, kinda like regular dried dates.

• run it facing an open window, to push hot air out;

Three large, deep red cherries and one bright green gage arranged on a light brown plate. The gage & one of the cherries are cut in half, so you can see they're just as vibrant on the inside.

Fresh dates in a brown paper bag. They're smooth, round, golden-colored fruit, similar in appearance to yellow plums. They're a little over an inch across, and in linear bunches around thin woody stems. A couple of them have darker patches that look like bruising, but in fact indicate that they're starting to ripen - when they turn brown they soften & sweeten, at this stage they're crunchy and unappetizing.
